Pre-world TB day press briefing:

Inform Nigerians of the upcoming 2018 WTBD celebrations, the theme, objectives, schedule of events, etc. To be done by the Nigeria Stop TB Partnership at the Challenge TB office. Involved NTBLCP., WHO USAID, FHI360, Challenge TB

 

 

19th March, 2018:

9am

Community Awareness creation and testing of community with GeneXpert/Xray for case finding at Community Outreach, Utako Motor Park, Jabi.

Awareness and GeneXpert/Xray  testing  for case finding at Community Outreach with TB Diagnostic Truck ( Challenge TB “Wow vehicle”) at Utako Motor park. The Diagnostic tract will facilitate active TB case finding. Up to 1000 community members expected to be screen. 

 

 

19th-24th  March 2018

TV and Radio Interviews, on AIT, Channels, NTA

TB experts in Nigeria  participated at various TV and Radio Interviews with subject matter o2018 World TB day

 

20th of March 2018:

 

High level round table discussion on sustainable financing for TB at Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton Hotel, Abuja

Organised by Stop TB Partnership. Participants are dignitaries from Private sectors, cooperate organizations, To discuss and proffer solutions to challenges of financing TB programs in Nigeria.

 

21st March 2018:

 

Orientation workshop for parliamentarian from all over the country in Abuja

To educate parliamentarians on the epidemic and its influence on social-economic development of the country

Launching ceremony of Nigeria Parliamentary TB Caucus, at the National assembly

 

Nigeria Parliamentary Tuberculosis Caucus (also known as Nigeria TB Caucus) is the forum for parliamentarians and other political leaders to complement the efforts of other stakeholders to end TB in the country. The Nigeria TB Caucus is affiliated to the Africa TB Caucus and the Global TB Caucus. Launching and Call to Action provides the opportunity to formalize the process of establishing the Nigeria TB Caucus and provide more information that will enhance effective engagement of its members.
